Responsibilities:Abilities necessary to assess client and family needs to develop and carry out appropriate evaluation of client. Must have Interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective service, to contribute quality care and service to the client by: assisting clients and families in receiving maximum benefits from psychiatric care by providing comprehensive pre-crisis intervention and support. The objective is to assist the client in remaining in the least restrictive environment, provide pre-crisis intervention and support to the chronically mentally ill client and their families, assist the client in remaining in the least restrictive environment, provide the necessary information to the client or families for them to link up the appropriate treatment providers, and to divert inappropriate psychiatric inpatient admission. Position also requires intervene in crisis situations in order to restore appropriate functioning to individual clients and their families, to initiate Baker Act evaluations for those clients who appear at risk and are in need of psychiatric hospitalization and to provide clinical assistance to law enforcement, social services agencies, hospital emergency rooms, etc., in their decision making processes regarding Baker Act situations.
